The duo showcased some terrific on screen chemistry which made the movie end up as a blockbuster. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone even performed to the peaks which made Sanjay Leela Bhansali cast them in his magnum opus BajiraoMastani.
BM has taken years for scripting and after a huge and intense search, Bhansali finalized Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for the lead roles. The movie is about the life story of king and warrior Bajirao Peshwa who never witnessed failure in his life.
Deepika Padukone surprised everyone as Mastani in the movie and their performances are said to be the major highlights of the film. The flick has been made on a budget of Rs 210 crores and Sanjay Leela Bhansali along with Eros International produced the movie on Bhansali Productions banner.
It occupied the maximum number of screens and released between huge expectations in over 6000 screens across the world. The makers of the film made sure that the movie will have a wide release to recover the investments. Bajirao Mastani opened to average response and the movie collected Rs 12.80 crores on its opening day.
The word of mouth slowly increased and the collections have been stable and strong. The movie crossed Rs 100 crore mark in 10 days and the movie minted Rs 166.55 crores in 18 days of its box-office run. Bajirao Mastani collected Rs 1.5 crores on its 19th day and The film made Rs 168.05 crores in 19 days.
