Procedure to do Laxmi Puja (Diwali Puja)

Goddesses Laxmi and Ganesha’s idol were put on a stage, the coin may also be used in this case. Laxmi’s idol needed to be in the right of the Ganesha’s idol according to rituals. The statues should be putten west facing.

Two diyas enlightened in front of the idols, One must be filled with Oil and the other must be filled with ghee. The coconut is wrapped with a red cloth and putten beneath the legs of Kuber and Laxmi. Some pieces of Sweet must also be putten beneath the statues.

Kalash with rice filled was put in front of the Laxmi statue.

The mantra for Diwali Pujan is

“Om Shri Hin, Shrin, Mahalakshamaye Namah.”

The chanting of the mantra is considered as one of the important parts, however, the Aarti of Goddess Laxmi and Ganesha may be optional (According to some experts).

Diwali Puja Vidhi

Starting from very basics, first, do all the preparations for Laxmi Puja, Take some water in hands and spread it over the idols of Laxmi and Ganesha chanting the following mantra.

ॐ पवित्रः अपवित्रो वा सर्वावस्थांगतोऽपिवा।
यः स्मरेत्‌ पुण्डरीकाक्षं स वाह्यभ्यन्तर शुचिः॥
पृथ्विति मंत्रस्य मेरुपृष्ठः ग षिः सुतलं छन्दः
कूर्मोदेवता आसने विनियोगः॥

Then chant out one of the most important Mantras which was already mentioned. “Om Shri Hin, Shrin, Mahalakshamaye Namah.” . After this Diwali Pujan has been completed. Deploy the diya in every corner of the house to make the puja get complete.
