Before this date, the function of PSC in respect of the civil services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union Territory of HP were being discharged by the UPSC under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. It was, therefore, incumbent on the State to have its own PSC. However, since a state PSC could be constituted simultaneously with the attainment of Statehood, the UPSC, on a request from the Governor of the state of Himachal Pradesh with the approval of the President of India.

Himachal Pradesh public service commission released official notification throughout the state regarding recruitment of lecturers and teachers under state eligibility test.
This examination is popularly known as SET. This is the most famous exam taken by the Himachal government. Official notification regarding HPSET was released in June 2016 within one month of the recruitment process.
More than nine thousand candidates appeared in the examination. Those candidates are eagerly waiting for the result declaration till 24.07.2016. HP Set took place in various districts of the complete state.
Most prominent colleges and schools were booked on Sunday. Candidates who have applied for Himachal Pradesh SET must have completed Masters degree or Ph.D. from any recognized university.
Application Fees of State eligibility is 700 Rs & 350 Rs for Rest.
There are total 2 papers conducted. The timings of paper 1 are from 10:00 AM TO 11:15 AM and that of Paper 2 is 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM and paper 3 is 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Candidates are requested to send question paper at examsleague@gmail.com that will be easy for them to solve the question.
