Akshay came up with his first film Airlift this year which is said to be an action thriller. Raja Krishna Menon directed the film which has been based on a real incident which has never been mentioned in the history of India.
Airlift is the based on the biggest evacuation that took place during the civil war of Iraq and Kuwait. The incident made its place in The Guinness Book of World Records for evacuating more than 1.70 lakh Indians during the civil war. The movie has been shot in realistic locations of Dubai, Rajasthan, and Mumbai which has been made on a budget of Rs 30 crores.
Airlift opened to rave reviews and packed houses across the world. The movie collected Rs 12.35 crores on its first day which has been decent. The movie gained strength on its second day by collecting Rs 14.60 crores which made the film a hit.
