With an established business talented filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar has taken special care and she worked as an assistant director before she started directing films. She made her debut with Yaariyaan with new faces which are said to be a romantic entertainer. Bhaumik Ghondalia, Rakul Preet Singh, Himansh Kohli, Nicole Faria, Shreyas Porus and Ankit Sharma played the most prominent roles in the movie.

Divya took her time to pen the script and planned the schedules perfectly as she has enough base of manpower. She started hunting for the right cast and Pulkit Samrat who impressed the audience with Fukrey and is waiting for the right commercial break has been roped in to play the lead role.

Sanam Re released on February 12th 2016 and the film has been lashed out by the critics. However the movie received decent word of mouth and it has been accepted by the audience. The collections remained strong for two weeks and the film recovered the invested amounts.

Sanam Re collected Rs 33.88 crores in 17 days of its boxoffice run. The makers have been left overwhelmed by the response of the film and they thanked the audience for supporting the film. Sanam Re dominated Fitoor starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif which released on the same day. T-Series and Prateek Entertainments produced the movie.
