Born as the son of actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, Dutt selected his own path from his initial days of acting. He is a known film actor, producer, and politician. He married Richa Sharma and after her death in 1996, he got married to Rhea Pillai in 1998 with whom he was divorced in 2005. He then married Manyata Dutt in 2008 with whom he is currently living.

SD was arrested under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in April 1993 for possessing illegal arms. He was arrested in 1993 and after spending 18 months in jail, he was granted bail and the case were under investigation.
In 2007, he was announced convicted and the court sentenced six years of imprisonment which included his previous term of 18 months. Sanjay approached Supreme Court which revealed that he is convicted and he was arrested in 2013 and convicted for five years. For his good behavior in the jail, he was released on February 25th
Sanjay Dutt who is an emotional man was quite happy after he came out of Yerawada prison, Pune. He saluted to the national flag right after coming out and he traveled to Mumbai in a special private jet along with his family. He visited his famous Siddhi Vinayak temple in Mumbai after which he visited his mother’s grave and offered prayers. He straight went to his home and met all his well wishers and family members. He even arranged a press meet revealing many interesting things about his jail life and turned emotional at times.
