Shaandaar First Week (7 Days) Box Office Collections: Bagged more than 50 Crores in First Week

Cute actors Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have teamed up for the first time in their career with Shaandaar. Super talented filmmaker and producer Vikas Bahl came up with his upcoming movie Shaandaar after a super hit like Queen. The trailers and the other videos of the movie have caught a good glimpse expecting the film to be promising. Also Vikas Bahl who has been quite selective about his films came up with a movie that is based on destination wedding. Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapoor played an important role in the movie and the movie has been shot exclusively in London. Sanjay Kapoor has been seen in a supporting role. (see: kanche collections.)

The movie released between huge expectations and surprisingly the movie has been rejected straight away by the audience. The movie offered nothing except the on screen chemistry between Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The comedy of the movie is said to be irritating and the boring narration and the dragged climax killed the film completely. The audience have been left in surprise and they did not expect such a film from the promising filmmaker. Shaandaar opened to packed houses all over on the occasion of Dasara and the movie minted Rs 13.10 crores on its first day. After a decent first day the movie witnessed a huge downfall on its second day collecting just Rs 7.55 crores all over the world.

Though the movie did not offer anything new, with no options around the film lovers had to visit the screens and

Shaandaar collected Rs 6.75 crores on Saturday, i.e on its third day. The film did not witness any growth on Sunday and it collected Rs 6.11 crores taking the total collection to Rs 33.51 crores. After such pathetic response all over, the movie dipped down completely on the week days. Shaandaar made up Rs 38 crores in its first week in all the regions of release. The movie is expected to close its business for Rs 40 crores with no scope of improvement as the domestic collection.

Shaandaar Overseas Box Office Collections

Going towards the Overseas collection, Shaandaar have successfully bagged around 13.65 overseas collections which amount total of more than 50 crore segment in the movie collections. The total worldwide box office collection of Shaandaar comes to around of 52.31 crore in total

However with no content in the movie, their chemistry and performance alone could not save the film. Shahid has been completely upset with the result of the movie as he needs a hit badly. After a series of debacles, he has come up with Haider which received critical acclaim all over but could not mint money. He pinned huge hopes on Shaandaar which spoiled all his dreams. The film even brought down the reputation of his father Pankaj Kapoor. The blame game has now begun after the most awaited movie ended as a dud at the ticket window. Hope Shahid will be back to commercial track with his upcoming movie Udta Punjab.
