Even after alleged involvement of Lena in Lilian’s escape and police evidence, Kara seems to be not ready to believe that she helped Lilian in real. It is because Lena helped the police to arrest Lilian as she made the project CADMUS to fail. She tricked her mother into making her believe that she supports her mission. Moreover, she called authorities and made the police arrest her adoptive mother.
It is no doubt that Kara will try to prove Lena innocent. Based on the Supergirl s2e12 synopsis, it is quite clear that there could be some flashbacks on how Lena came to be a Luthor. The Luthor family adopted her at the age of four, and she had gone through a lot of difficulties as Lilian favored Lex more.
Moreover, the fans would see Alex and Maggie celebrating their first Valentine’s day. Speculations say that Mxyzptlk will appear in the last few minutes of 12th episode. He would take center stage and announced her love for Kara. In comics, he has the magical power to return to his fifth dimension by calling his name in reverse.
Also, the Supergirl season 2 episode 12 promo features iconic Superman villain Lex with his iconic war suit. Further information remains a mystery, but this is surely an easter egg!

LENA IS ARRESTED – After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Despite overwhelming evidence, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe her friend is guilty and fights to clear Lena’s name. Flashbacks reveal how Lena came to be a Luthor.
Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together.
