Bombay Velvet has been made on a budget of Rs 75 crores and the movie ended up collecting short of Rs 20 crores. Directed and produced by Anurag Kashyap, the movie has been shot exclusively in Srilanka and Anushka Sharma played the female lead in the movie. Coming out of these debacles, Ranbir is back with his latest movie.

Ranbir Kapoor and DeepikaPadukone who had a break up in real life have been extremely terrific on screen with their stunning on screen chemistry. flick released in nearly 3000 screens worldwide and the movie has been made on a budget of Rs 75 crores.

The single screens had 80% occupancy throughout the first weekend and the movie collected Rs 24 crores in its first weekend which is highest among Ranbir Kapoor’s films till date. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika’s outstanding performances have been well appreciated at the multiplexes.
But as the movie had a dip in the second half, it has been rejected by some sections of the audience. However Tamasha had a decent first week and it collected Rs 45 crores which have been decent. The collections dropped badly during the second week and Tamasha received tough competition from the erotic thriller Hate Story 3.
It managed to collect Rs 20 crores in its second week making the total reach Rs 65 crores. The movie collected Rs 1.2 crores in its third week till date making the total Rs 66.2 crores. The complete business of the film is expected to close by the end of the third week.
