Happy Bhag Jayegi 1st / 2nd Day Collection Opening HBJ First Friday / Saturday Box Office Business and Occupancy Report: The latest Bollywood movie Happy Bhaag Jayegi released today, i.e., August 19. This romantic comedy (rom-com) flick will face tough competition from Rustom and Mohenjo Daro for sure. (check: Rustom collection.)

The latest film of Akshay Kumar, Rustom is enjoying the box office run as apparent from the trends. It is faring well even after completing its first week. As per the early reports, this week’s venture ‘Happy Bhaag Jayegi’ has got a poor opening of just around 15 percent occupancy. It’s all because of last week’s releases.

Rustom is still dominating the occupancy with around 30% on an average. So, going by the trends, Happy Bhaag Jayegi first day collection seems to get about Rs 2 cr from the Indian market. It has got a wide release on around 1600+ screens.

It has got most occupancy from Delhi-NCR due to the local flavor. However, it was never expected to get a very good opening due to its repetitive promos and flop music.

Director Anand L Rai has co-produced it while Eros International has acquired its distribution rights. Thus, the film has got some hype around it. However, Rustom is far bigger and better in all respects.

Though, Rustom has crossed the milestone of earning Rs 100 cr worldwide; it is now going to cross Rs 100 cr from the domestic market. It will maintain a steady pace throughout the second week as there is no notable releases.

On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan starrer Mohenjo Daro has failed to stay stable in front of Akshay’s Rustom. Now, with the release of HBJ, the competition for it becomes, even more, fierce.

The comedy film is being regarded as the comeback for Diana Penty. The film started its day with mixed reviews from the critics. The main thing to drive business remains its word of mouth. If it successfully generates positive and better word of mouth, then it can fare. Otherwise, it will be drop dead.

Happy Bhag Jayegi 1st Day Collection – Rs 2.36 cr

Happy Bhag Jayegi 2nd Day Collection – Rs 3.81 cr

In the meantime, Rustom has collected Rs 90 cr from India, and Rs 120 cr worldwide box office. With the such an excellent collection, it has turned into the highest opening week collections for Akshay Kumar of his entire career. The crime thriller is expected to create more records in the coming days.

HBJ will struggle whereas this week’s Hollywood release Pete’s Dragon and War Dogs are expected to fare better than it at multiplexes. Diana starrer will get negligible occupancy from except Delhi. Noon shows had limited growth, and it mostly relied on multiplexes. Unindian starring Brett Le is a washout.
