MTV Video Music Awards 2015: Miley Cyrus returns tonight as the host of VMA after a period of two years of her speculated twerk performance and twelve months after receiving the prize.

Miley told the reporters of The New York Times that this year’s version will be way different from what happened last year. This time, it will be “psychedelic and raw.”

“What I’m trying to do is create my Instagram — which people love to think is so freaky — in real life,” she said. “It’s letting people into my world.”

Miley Cyrus revealed that Van Toffler, one of the executive producer of VMA who will be leaving the company soon, roped in her to be the host of the show.

“He’s leaving, so he can’t get fired. He was like, ‘I want to do something crazy — I want you to host the VMAs, because I want that to be my last shebang.'” she said. “It’s like ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.'”

Toffer during an interview with ABC News said that she has a fun and nice history with the show but at the same she has been grown up since then.

While talking about the show, Miley said that she would not like to be made fun of her performance with Robin Thicke back in 2013. At that time, she literally shocked the world. She further stated that even now she couldn’t understand why people made that much hype for the dance moves.

“When you look at it now, it looks like I’m playing hopscotch,” she said. “Compared to what I do now, it looks like nothing. I can’t believe that was a big deal. It wasn’t shocking at all.”

Responding to the question, what if no speech and jokes then what she would do, she said that it will all be fun skits. Moreover, the night comes with a full package of performances by Cyrus, Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas.

“There’s always mayhem… we particularly like to put the combustible elements in one room together and then stand back, ‘cause that’s what makes a show really special,” said Toffler. “People feel the stage is special when they go up there to perform… they’re mindful of the heritage of the prior performances in the show and… they feel like, ‘I wanna create a moment.'”

“It’s gonna be a wild and crazy night,” agreed executive producer Garrett English. “There are gonna be moments that will be resonating for days to come, I’m sure.”

MTV VMA 2015 show will be organized at Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 30 at 9 pm ET. It will be aired directly from there. However, the pre-show will start at 8 pm ET.
