She scored a massive hit with Raanjhana along with Dhanush and the movie directed by Anand L Rai went on to mint huge box-office money.

2 Days Neerja 1st Saturday Box OfficeThe movie gave her the much needed boost up for the actress after which she scored one more hit with Bhaag Milka Bhaag and Khoobsurat too ended up as a decent box-office grosser. Sonam for the first time teamed up with Salman Khan for a family entertainer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which ended up as an average fair directed by Sooraj R Barjatiya.
She recently signed a movie titled Neerja which surprised everyone. The movie is said to be a biopic of air hostess Neerja Bhanot who sacrifice her life saving 359 lives during a flight hijack in Karachi that took place in 1986. Her life story has been made into a biopic and Sonam played the title role in the movie which has been directed by Ram Madhvani.
The movie has been shot in 75 working days and it has been made on a budget of Rs 13 crores including the promotion work. Neerja has been produced by Fox Star Studios and the movie released on February 19th all over the world.
Neerja received huge response from the audience all over and the movie has been widely applauded by the critics. The movie opened with decent openings and it collected Rs 4.70 crores. The film released in 700 screens across the country and with the huge positive word of mouth, the film is expected to jump up huge during the weekend.
