One such film is Neerja and the movie has been in news ever since the theatrical trailer of the movie has been out. Directed by Ram Madhvani, the movie is based on the life of Neerja Bhanot who was shot dead by terrorists who hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi on 5 September 1986.
Sonam Kapoor played the lead role as Neerja Bhanot and Shabana Azmi played the role of her mother. Neerja Bhanot became the youngest recipient of India’s highest peacetime military award for bravery, the Ashok Chakra.
The trailer of the film received huge reception all over and the audience are eagerly waiting for the film which has been slated for release on February 19th across the world. Fox Star Studios produced the movie which has been made on a budget of Rs 21 crores.
