Virender Sehwag Retirement: Cricketer Slashes Rumors on 37th Happy Birthday

Virender Sehwag Retirement: Recently, the retiring speculations increased of one of the best cricketers of India. But, on Monday, he slashed all the rumors stating the same. Further, he said that he is not going to retire very soon.

The buzz and the speculations emerged when he was seen at the inauguration of the Masters Champions League 2020 in Dubai. It took a tide as only retired cricketers can play in MCL. It is scheduled to be played in 2016.

Thus, all the rumors suggesting his retirement from the international cricket have been slammed. He is not going to put the curtain on his international cricket career soon.

Yesterday, he was present at the launch ceremony of the veterans 2020 league. Today, i.e., Tuesday is his 37th birthday. We wish a very happy birthday to Sehwag.

Along with Sehwag, the biggies of cricket were present including Brian Lara, Graeme Smith, and Azhar Mahmood. Virender was asked by a reporter about playing in the MCL as it’s only for retired cricketers. Sehwag replied, “If I am not retired I will not play. I will go back to India and announce my retirement.”

MCL is scheduled for play in Feb 2016. What it means is that Virender Sehwag will get enough time to play in Ranji Trophy as promised by him. After that, he would join the veterans’ league. He has been playing for 12 years now and scored 8586 runs in 104 Tests with an average of 49.34 with 23 100s and 32 50s.

Moreover, he is the triple centurion in Tests for India. He did it two times till now. He scored 319 runs against Pakistan at Multan while the second one (309) was scored against South Africa. Adding to his overall records, he has made 8273 runs in 251 one day internationals with an average of 35.05 which includes 15 tons and 38 half-centuries.

While in 19 T20 matches, he scored a total of 394 runs including 2 50s.
