A spokesperson from the Facebook told our reporters, “We are very close to shipping a test of it.”
This is all that they said. It looks like the biggest social media site has gone change of heart or it may have received ideas using this feature. Who knows other than the company itself.
Well, whatever may the reason is. It is now clear that they are going to test it very soon.
“People have asked about the ‘Dislike’ button for many years … and today is a special day, because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it and are very close to shipping a test of it,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said today during a public Q&A session, according to CNBC
.
They haven’t revealed the reason for making but the CEO, Zuckerberg has pointed the goal and said it will be released to use it in a way to “express empathy” – as in, to Dislike a sad moment that a friend shared — than a way to hurt someone.
“We don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on people’s posts,” Zuckerberg said. “That doesn’t seem like the kind of community that we want to create: you don’t want to go through the process of sharing some moment that was important to you in your day and have someone downvote it.”
What he wanted to say that he is not going to make Facebook another Reddit, which has caused Reddit to face recent troubles. This idea makes his statement justified.
