Zaha Hadid Died At 65: Renowed Architect’s Death Cause is Heart Attack

Zaha Hadid Death: The Iraqi-born British world architect suffered a heart attack and died at the age of 65. She was the first female to achieve the title of the top Pritzker Architecture Prize. (watch: MS Dhoni grills journalist.)

As per the reports from Zaha’s design firm, she was suffering from bronchitis for quite some time now. She was at a Miami hospital where she breathed her last.

“Zaha was widely regarded to be the greatest female architect in the world today.”

Zaha Hadid Death: Died Due to Heart Attack

Hadid born on 31st October 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq. Her educational qualifications include the study of mathematics at the American University in Lebanon. After that, she went to London to study architecture at the Architectural Association in 1972.

Later in 1979, she came up with an idea to set up her own firm as Zaha Hadid Architects in London. She started practicing on her own.

After that in the year 2004, Hadid was awarded the Pritzker Prize, which is popularly known as the Nobel for architecture. She became the first woman to win it.

The Chicago-based Pritzker Architecture Prize organization expressed their grief in a statement issued in which they mentioned that they are “deeply saddened” by her sudden death.

“She was truly a pioneer in the field of architecture. She represents the highest aspirations of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Hadid will be remembered for her talent, creativity, commitment, loyalty and friendship.”

Known for her neo-futuristic designs, Hadid was recently awarded by the Royal Insititute of British Architects. They gave her the 2016 Royal Gold Medal award.

Hadid’s designs include the London Aquatics Centre, which was utilized during the 2012 London Olympics. She also designed the Al Wakrah Stadium which will be used for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. It is currently under construction.

“I am in shock, and I’m deeply saddened,” Leila Araghian, a young female architect who designed the award-winning Nature Bridge in Tehran.

“She had worked hard for years and never gave up on what she believed in. This is what we all must learn from her.”
