Airlift 25th Day (25 Days) 4th Week Monday Box Office Collections: Periodic dramas and historic episodes have been picked up by many directors and they have been narrated bringing the real feel without missing the logic. The recent success of Bajirao Mastani and Baahubali: the Beginning is examples of huge hits. The audience has been quite interested in encouraging such films only when they have been narrated in an engaging way without deviating the original plot. Many filmmakers are now stepping forward to produce such movies after back to back hits like such movies.

Talented director Raja Krishna Menon came up with a concept of Airlift which has been quite interesting and never revealed or discussed by anyone on screen or in our history books. The most interesting thing is that the Airlift has never been written by any author. The concept of the film impressed Akshay Kumar who signed the movie on a spot. An excited Akshay Kumar gave a year time to shape up the script and listen to the final draft. He has been very impressed with the draft after which the other cast, the crew are finalized. Airlift Collections are itself a great success for Akshay Kumar.

Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur played the lead roles in the film which has been shot mostly in Dubai. Airlift is about the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait during the civil war between Iraq and Kuwait around 1.70 lakh Indians have been struck in this war without food and shelter. Ranjith Katyal, a businessman based in Kuwait takes the responsibility to evacuate the Indians to their homeland. The complete film has been shot in 75 days and the movie has been made on a budget of Rs 40 crores.

Airlift released on January 22nd across the world during the Republic Day weekend and the movie received a stupendous response from the audience. The movie has been well accepted and the positive word of mouth made the theaters run with packed houses for the entire first week. Airlift smashed all the existing records of Akshay Kumar’s films and the movie collected Rs 83.2 crores in the first week.

The movie dominated even in its second week and the movie is still running successfully. Airlift Collections comes to Rs 127.08 crores in 25 days of its box-office run across the country. The movie even minted huge money across the International circles. Abundantia Entertainments, Cape of Good Films, Emmy Entertainments, T-Series and Hari Om Entertainments produced Airlift.
