He scored a massive hit with Ram Leela starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The movie ended up as a massive hit and crossed Rs 100 crore mark. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone received wide applause for their performances in the movie. Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself produced the movie on Bhansali Entertainments banner.

18 Days BM 3rd Monday Box OfficeHe has been dreaming about his magnum opus Bajirao Mastani from sometime but the project has been delayed several times. Salman Khan has been initially considered to play the lead role in the movie but as per his requirement, SLB was not happy which made the film put on hold.
Though the director planned about the happenings of the film, nothing materialized. It was after the success of Ram Leela, Bhansali decided to cast Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for the roles of Peshwa Bajirao and Mastani. The duo impressed with their performances and their sizzling chemistry made Sanjay Leela Bhansali feel they are the perfect cast for the flick.
The movie has been shot for over two years and it has been made on a budget of Rs 210 crores. Ranveer Singh played Peshwa Bajirao who happened to be the warrior king of Maratha kingdom who never lost a battle in his life. Deepika Padukone played Mastani and Priyanka Chopra essayed the role of Kashibhai in the film.
The movie has been shot in and around Gujarat and lavish sets have been erected for the film. The movie released all over on December 18th and it received decent response from the audience. The movie opened to average reviews and it collected Rs 46.77 crores in its opening weekend.

Bajirao Mastani maintained the stability throughout and the film managed to cross Rs 100 crore mark in 10 days. The movie collected Rs 162.35 crores in 17 days till Sunday which has been decent. The movie grabbed Rs 90 crores across the world excluding India which is huge.
BajiraoMastani collected Rs 166. 55 crores in 18 days of its box-office run among the domestic circles. The film has been produced by Bhansali Entertainments.
