Blindspot Season 1 Episode 18 Review: Rich begins the episode in prison as he cheats up against his fellow inmates in a poker game. When they realize he’s been cheating, they beat the crap out of him. Oscar, on the other hand, is trying to push Jane to get close to Weller, and he is starting to succeed. (read: Better Call Saul S1E10 review.)
Jane and Weller meet with Rich and demand him to reveal Akhtar’s whereabouts. Rich agrees to help on the condition that he would be shifted to medium security. After they break him out for the mission, he tells them that the painting first needs to be stolen before striking a deal with Akhtar. They are planning and working together to steal the painting.
Blindspot Season 1 Episode 18 Review
Rich, Jane, Weller and Allie break into Turner’s; they come across a hurdle to cross which they reboot the system. Turner gets alerted due to the reboot and leaves his lecture to stop the thieves. A fight ensues between Turner and the robbers.
Turner dies, but one of the painting is damaged. Rich takes that painting to a forger-friend of his, who repairs it in time. A meet with Akhtar is set up. Rich is to go the hotel where Akhtar is holed up, and once he confirms Akhtar’s ID, he has to inform the team. He is all wired up. Jane tags along.
They meet Akhtar in the party. He scans the paintings and says they are fake. Just then, other government agencies raid the place. Akhtar tries to escape, but Jane catches her.In the pursuit, Rich was shot in the leg. Rich climbs over a ledge and is ready to jump to his death.
Others are trying to talk him out of it when he jumps and releases a parachute to land safely on the street. It turns out, Rich planned this all along from start to finish. He paid the inmates to beat him up, asked his forger-friend to switch the original paintings with fake ones and finally got away with them. Later, the agents come to know that even the man they caught was not Akhtar.
Weller tries to save the day by asking Allie for drinks, to which she refuses. In the end, Weller decides to move over Sophia and call Alexandra. Just then, someone gets into the car with Alexandra.
