Nandamuri Balakrishna has a habit of scoring some roaring hits and his films end up as huge hits or clean debacles at the box-office. He never thinks about competition and he has a habit of releasing his films even between several releases. He came up with NBK Lion last year and the movie ended as the biggest debacle in his career.
Though the film had unique content, the director failed to narrate the movie in an engaging way. Trisha and Radhika Apte played the female leads in this intense action entertainer. Balakrishna has taken a break after the film’s release and he wanted to come up with a commercial entertainer in his 100th film.
Balakrishna has been discussing a script with Sriwass for some time and finally Balayya gave his nod for the movie which is said to be a stylish action entertainer laced with entertainment. The movie has been shot in just 75 days and the entire first half has been filled with entertainment. (Also See: Nannaku Prematho Collections)
Anjali and Sonal Chauhan are the heroines and Prudhvi played an important role in the film. SS Thaman composed the music and Shyam K Naidu is the cinematographer. Balakrishna will be seen in a role with two completely different shades. The first one has a comic touch and the second role is completely stylish and Balayya has been projected in a powerful role that clashes with mafia goons.
The dictator has been one of the most awaited movies after the release of the theatrical trailer as it has been highly impressive. The music of the film has been a smashing hit all over and Nandamuri fans started celebrating the film’s success even before the release of the film. Dictator released on January 14th in a record number of screens during Sankranthi and the movie received a thumping response from the audience.
The movie witnessed packed houses all over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Dictator collected Rs 28.5 crores in 17 days of its box-office run across the world. Made on a budget of Rs 26 crores, Dictator is expected to end up collecting a share of Rs 30 crores in its final run. The satellite rights of the film have been sold out for a whopping price of Rs 6.5 crores which has been huge.
Nandamuri fans have been quite delighted with the success of the film and Dictator marks 99th film for Balakrishna as an actor. Sriwass produced the movie on Vedashwa Cinema along with Eros International who bankrolled the project.
