Shah Rukh Khan’s new movie, Fan is struggling at the box office in week 5. The movie came out with a lot of buzz and it was expected to bag huge numbers at the box office. But it turned out the wrong way and is merely surviving the box office heat. What do you think? Will Fan reach the prestigious 100 crore club?

From the looks of it, it is a ‘NO’ from our side and Fan may just touch 90 crores at the most. SRK was terrific with his performance in Fan but the audience didn’t take the thriller as the makers wanted. So the movie is suffocating at the box office.

By the end of fourth weekend, Film could only bag around 7 lakhs in India. The 4th weekend didn’t go as expected due to the release of films like 24 and Captain America: Civil War. The total box office Collections ended at 84.17 crores by the end of 4th weekend.
When it comes to the 27th-day box office collections, the film could only make 3 lakhs approx and makes total box office collections to 86 crores approx.
The film was made with a whopping budget of 85 crores and see where it headed in week 5. It turns out to be a no loss no profit film for the SRK unit. When compared to SRK’s previous film, Dilwale, Movie’s screen count was comparatively high but the occupancy was low.
Fan movie came out in 3500 screens and Dilwale was in 3000 screens. Dilwale had an occupancy of 80% whereas Fan could only get 55-60% in its first week. Well, that was due to IPL effect and the weekends had a better occupancy of 75% in week 1. Whereas in Week 2, movie was going down with box office collections and also occupancy. The film had only 45-50% occupancy.
In week 2, Fan film had an occupancy of 35-45%. movie was strongly hit the Jungle book too at the box office. In week 3, there was a fall to only 25% occupancy and the screen count drastically fell. Week 4 was terrible as there were Baaghi, 24 and Captain America: Civil War. The occupancy for Fan movie was around 5-10% only.
When you look at the week 1 box office comparisons of Bollywood films which were released in 2016, Fan movie stands second next to Airlift which has bagged 83.50 Crores in week 1 and Fan bagged only 71.50 Crores. Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi stands third with 59.72 Crores. Then at the last, Kapoor and Sons, Ki and Ka and Neerja stand with an opening week box office collection of 46.93 crores, 37.57 crores, and 35.32 crores respectively.
Fan movie may not last for week 6 as it is suffering very badly at the box office. As Emraan Hashmi’s Azhar and X-Men Apocalypse will hit the screens. Few more Tamil and Telugu films will also join the race and Fan may end up in Week 6.
