Rustom review and rating (7/10) : Akshay Kumar is back with his debonair performance

Rustom review and Rating: Akshay Kumar remains one of the most talked about actor this year. Making his way to top 3 actors of 2016, he maintained his position to number 2 so far. The first place is held by Salman Khan for giving blockbusters, one after another. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Airlift’ which was released a few months ago collected plenty of responses from critics and audience as well. His another film ‘Baby’ was praised a lot. Now a days, Aki is leading image of most patriotic bollywood actor. His good relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi are also no longer a secret.

Akshay has a old habit of getting introduced in the film in a very classy role. From Namaste London to Airlift, the intro was always positive for the lead star. Housefull 3 was although a bit different being a comedy film. Likes of his personality had also inflated because of the fact he plays peril roles without any body double.

Ileana had done quite decent number of films in bollywood. She was initially and primarily introduced in the industry after ‘Barfi’. Her acting won many hearts clearing the way to stardom. Self made star is very choosy when it comes to script. Rustom is her 4th film in bollywood after Main Tera Hero and Happy Ending (The film was released with Saif Ali Khan in lead role, flop movie. It was successful for Saif only as his marriage with Kareena got more chances).

Esha Gupta remains one of the most popular star among starks in 2012. Being casted back to back in Raaz 3 and Jannat 2, she recieved a well maintained stage to perform. Her success rate remains higher than many new stars in the big screen. However, Humshakals had let her career down which she must be expecting a good.

Rustom Review

Rating: 7/10

It was important to highlight the given facts before starting Rustom Review. All three important stars had never performed together and coming from different streams. Director Tinu Suresh Desai never recieved any award and rather done only film which was ‘1920: London’. 1920 London was highly criticised on the box office. Having unexperienced director, important of storyline increases in Rustom review.

Most of us must had watched the powerful trailer which features Akshay and Ileana in leading roles. The movie is about a seafarer who had killed his wife’s paramour. Rustom got large support from society and government because of his clean image. Being guilty of the crime, he decided to not to speak. Justice is to be delivered.

It was precedented that the case is going to move High Court. At that time, Courts in India used to use Jury system. Under Jury System, a bench of experts review the statements and background of the both parties. They announce the decision based on inputs, leaving the Indian Penal Code on one side. The decisions by Jury system was many a times wrong. Experts believe that Mahatma Gandhi’s killer Nathuram Godse also set free because of the same.

Coming back to the story, Govt was much aware about the fact that High Court will set Rustom free. To protect the values of Indian Constitution, Govt of India abolished Jury system from very time. Rustom aka K. M. Nanavati became first convict to be announced criminal under the law. He was later awarded with life imprisonment.

The storyline of the film is important in interesting. As Independence Day is also on the corner, Akshay Kumar had mixed a sense of patriotism in the story.

Rustom review {Performances}: Smart looking Akshay Kumar opens up with a never before captain avatar. He is once again in the court after Andaaz. Ileana looks attractive as ever. Aki’s character suits with the role.

Rustom review (Direction): Direction is good during the first half. It seems that director was in rush during the second half and tried his best to complete the film in short time frame. Man ! You don’t need to rush too much. Atleast give some time to the viewers to understand what is happening. Complex stories makes it difficult to understand the storyline. One needs to give his 100% focus on film only.

As we were already aware about the story, something more was expected from the story writer’s end. The climax and plot are well written and well performed. Only 2 out of 6 songs are catchy.

Overall Rustom is a must watch this weekend. The movie has a sterical way of storytelling which will engage you to the end. The good part of entire script is, it will keep you engage. Rustom will also be a superhit if the weekend plan works.

We are giving Rustom 3.5/5 stars.
