Nanditha played the female lead in the film and the movie has been shot exclusively in Bihar, Hyderabad, and the USA. Nikhil has been shown as an NRI guy who suffers from financial problems because of his father as he becomes bankrupted.

He comes to Bihar to sell the Shankarabharanam palace which is owned by his mother. He will be then kidnapped by a batch of dacoits which forms the rest of the story. Kona Venkat and MVV Satyanarayana produced Shankarabharanam on MVV Cinema banner.

The movie received mixed response right from the first day though the flick received exceptional openings on the first day. Shankarabharanam managed to collect close to Rs 2 crores on its first day which have been decent. Shankarabharanam released nearly in 1000 screens across the world and the film even had a wide release in the USA.

Because of the poor word of mouth the movie’s collections dipped down badly all over. Though the makers promoted the movie, Shankarabharanam has been badly rejected for the repeated and stale content.
