Supergirl Season 1 Episode 14 Review: This episode came out as one of the better ones from the series. I initially found the TV series boring, but it is now gathering some pace. Moreover, I am excited for this series because of the upcoming crossover with “The Flash” which is to be aired next month. This episode was titled “Truth, Justice and the American way” which is what Superman and his whole family from Krypton is about. (see: Quetta vs Islamabad.)

Directed by Lexi Alexander, this episode features Kara trying to handle many situations that she is now involved in, along with the crisis of switching between the identities of Supergirl and Kara from time to time. Master Jailer was one of the better villains that have featured in the series so far, who gave us a chance to view a few good action scenes. We also get to see an iconic scene where Supergirl breaks loose from Master Jailer’s chains. This scene is synonymous to Superman, so when saw Kara doing the same, it felt good.

Siobhan Smythe is CatCo’s new recruit, she is a co-secretary along with Kara. We expect her to become the Silver Banshee, the monstrous villain in the forthcoming episodes. She already has a bit of rivalry with Kara which was apparent in scene where she is flooring Kara with questions about her relationship with James. James, meanwhile is going back and forth in arguments with Lucy. Lucy is also becoming a point of tension between James and Kara.

Lucy dislikes James closeness with Supergirl. Also, Lucy was busy investigating Maxwell’s disappearance and her father helps her find out that DEO is behind it. Maxwell is being kept under DEO’s watch which could damage Supergirl’s image in front of everyone as Maxwell is pure evil who deserves to be punished for his cruel crimes. DEO is right in keeping him away from the world and keeping the world safe, but there is also a need of putting him to trial. He is human, after all.

Lucky for him, he is allowed to go under the warning of not exposing Kara’s secret else same would be done to him. Now, Kara is angry with J’onn as she believes he killed Astra. Kara is not ready to understand his views. I think what would happen when she is told that it was Alex who killed Astra. Kara would need to be extremely understanding to understand all this.
