Black Mirror season 5: A good news for Netflix lovers could be seen this week after ‘not so good’ updates. Another season of Black Mirror is officially confirmed. The last installment, with its six episodes, released just after Christmas. If you haven’t watched them, you can watch them online on the world’s largest streaming service, Netflix.

Netflix has finally renewed one of the most watched and loved television series on the internet, Si-Fi Anthology series ‘Black Mirror’ for its 5th season on Monday. The announcement was made on Twitter from official handles. Netflix picked up the series in 2015 and commissioned 12 episodes to be split into season 3 and 4.

Brooker said that he would definitely love to do more parts of the Netflix series. The executive producer Annabel Jones sounded the same. Jones said that it is a privilege and one of dream works to do. The fifth installment was announced with the release of a teaser trailer. It was tagged with a tagline stating: The future will be brighter than ever.

Black Mirror season 5 release date: When will it premiere?

The season 3 and 4 were released in October 2016 and December 2017 respectively on Netflix. So, the earliest date for the next one in the franchise would be the end of this year. The filming started in early 2018. In March 2018, Brooker was heard writing the third episode, but he said that the schedule will become a bit foggy onwards. It is entirely plausible that the fans would have to wait until early 2019. If it happens, Brooker may release one-off Christmas special episode.

Black Mirror season 5 episodes: Story?

It appears as if there will be one episode partly set in the 1980s. In April 2018, some fans were able to take clicks of retro-style shop fronts in Croydon. In some pictures, the inside look of the store was visible. There were full of actual retro vinyl album sleeves and a list of video game giving a hint of the older episodes.

There was ‘Roachbusters Red and Blue’ to refer to the roaches found in ‘Men Against Fire’ and ‘Pokemon’ episodes. ‘White Bear’ and ‘Metl Hedd’ are the titles given to episodes. However, the latter one may be spelled differently. ‘Valdack’s Revenge’ may give hint about the character in the ‘USS Callister’ and ‘Pig in a Poke’. And it seems to be the first episode.

Another episode may be titled ‘Bandersnatch’. As usual, all episodes of the series will come up with a new tech with unexpected consequences. After coming to Netflix, not every episode of the series end on a super bleak note. We might also get to revisit some of the worlds of Brooker as he said in an interview that they have a couple of ideas already.

Don’t expect more than six episodes in one go as Brooker has already stated that six is a good number. Whatever the episodes are about, you can expect Black Mirror shared universe.

Black Mirror season 5 cast

There is much official updates regarding who is going to play what. We hope to get it as we move close to its release date. Speaking of season 4, we didn’t get to know about its majority of star cast and the episode titles until August 2017. The former cast will appear only if there is a scheduled sequel to any of the previous episodes.

Most of the cast and crew will be different from the previous installment, even behind the camera. Hollywood legend Sir Ridley Scott expressed his interest in directing the future episodes.

Black Mirror season 5 trailer

Only announcement teaser has been released. You shouldn’t expect a full-fledged trailer any time soon. The s4 trailer arrived just four months before the release. So, we can expect a similar promotion schedule. You won’t be short of Black Mirror goodness.
