Zootopia 2 Sequel: Zootopia, an animated comedy-adventure film was released at the beginning of 2016 by Disney. It became the blockbuster movie grossing $1B+ worldwide. The climax of this movie left fans in the suspense whether Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps will move ahead of their friendship tag and hence fans of this movie are eagerly waiting to see the sequel.
Well, we have good news for you. The directors of movie Byron Howard and Rich Moore brought this good news at Golden Globes 2017. As they have stated that they have enough material to create a sequel. While talking at golden globes they had explained the making of original Zootopia movie. Earlier they wanted to make an anthropomorphic film just like classic Robin Hood, but Disney wanted a movie to be unique.

They want them to create such animals which were never created before. To fulfill this wish of Disney Byron Howard and Rich Moore has done an intensive research of two years in Africa to understand the coexistence of predators and prey species, i.e., Zoo+Utopia). As they said their preparation has started when they realized that this is one in million opportunities to talk about the fear and death.

It all started when producer Clark Spencer reminded how The Lion King provides an opportunity to discuss death and then the death of Bambi’s mother left him in shock. With this movie, they are also dealing with the more dangerous issues of our society that is discrimination and racism. The advantage of animation is that it does not have any limitations alike in humans on screen. Due to animation, people can better understand the Nick or Judy.
It will be the first-ever Zootopia movie with a male protagonist.
Zootopia 2: As told by Directors
Though sequel is confirmed now it was a tough call for both the Moore and Howard. Because after blockbuster hit of Zootopia, fans will definitely expect the better story in the sequel. Still, both the directors are very excited about this project as Moore said Zootopia is a beautiful world having wonderful characters.
As we have said, in the sequel the main focus will be on the relationship between Judy Hops and Nick Wilde. Directors are also in dilemma about the future of their relationship. As Moore said that some fans want Hopps and Wilde to get married which is very mainstream and common, but some fans want the story to be out of the box and wants Hopps and Wilde to remain best friend only.
Hence, directors are keeping all options open in front of them because it will be difficult for them to make the final decision. The Zootopia 2 release date isn’t official yet.

Zootopia 2 Plot
It is one of the most beautiful worlds, you have ever seen in life. It has Sahara Square and the chilly Tundratown volcano of life where you will find habitat of giant animal-like Polar Bears to the habitat of smallest ants living with each other.
Rookie officer Judy Hoops is the first bunny in the police department, but very soon she realized that being the bunny is not an easy task because she has to confront with large and vigorous animals. She needs to prove herself to her parents, friends, and colleagues and hence she joins forces with swift-talking hustler Nick Wilde ( voice of Jason Bateman). Nick Wilde is a fox and will solve mystery case with Hoops.
With director Byron Howard and Rich Moore, Jared Bush is co-director of the movie. Zootopia was released on March 4 of 2016. This blockbuster movie which earned the huge amount of $341,264,012 was written by Jared Bush and Phil Johnston.
After becoming the cops, Nick and Judy fight crimes in the Zootopia city. Meanwhile, sinister spy Tadashi Gorki steals from a secret factory secret sample with powers. He should become a rightful mayor of the city. But, his helpers and Bellwether decide to grab him and take over the city.
Let’s see if Judy and Nick would be able to take control of the situation and catch villains. Both the cops are sent to the capital city – Charmingtown on a mission to arrest rest of the bandits as well as to defeat Ferb Dogfaulsi, Bellwether, and their minions. Ferb will turn herbivores into violet predators with an evil potion.
Zootopia 2 Release Date
IMDb states that the anime movie, Zootopia 2 is slated to release in Spring/Summer 2018 by Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios. (Source -> http://www.imdb.com/list/ls066734594/ ).
