U.S. Highway 101 Blocked in Burlingame Due to Power Lines failure

California: The US highway 101 in Burlingame has been close in both the directions due to the power-lines failure. Last night, a tractor got smashed into a power pole.

The California Highway Patrol told the reporters that the head-on collision took place on US Route 101 south of Broadway around 9:30 pm.

Someone somehow smashed the tractor-trailer into the electrical tower, which resulted in the shutdown of power lines in northbound and southbound lanes.

The authorities are helping to divert the traffic via the freeway at Anza Boulevard in the north while at Millbrae Avenue in the south direction.

Drivers have been continuously advised to not to pass through that area and if someone is there, then avoid getting in touch with the power lines.

The officials reported that the highway would be closed for hours until it comes back into the proper situation. Pacific Gas and Electric Co. will de-energize the power lines using some special equipment.

The drivers reported being stuck for miles.

Moreover, Interstate 880 was blocked south of Fifth Avenue by police from some investigation purpose. Till now, no estimated time has been reported for re-opening of the lanes.

The accident on US Highway 101 in Burlingame resulted in the power failure for several miles around, including at AT&T Park.
