Hillsboro’s dad Ben Beers was deeply disappointed in society after Robb Elementary School Shooting in Texas which claimed 21 lives – 2 Teachers and 19 Children.
Who is Ben Beers
Ben Beers, 37, is an Ex-Marine gun owner as well as a stay-at-home dad with two young kids in Hillsboro, Oregon. He quickly became an American hero while politicians incentivized the shooting for political gains.
Ben Beers is a former Marine and gun owner. He’s dealt with law enforcement and handled firearms all of his life. But on Wednesday morning, he came to the conclusion that a strong change was required. He wrote about what happened next on TikTok.
Mr. Beers was holding 2 guns in his compartment before the surrender. He was the owner of an AR-15 and a 9-mill handgun. He decided to surrender both the guns in order to set an example for the entire America.
“Today I’m turning in my weapons to the Hillsboro Police Department in Oregon,” Beers said in his Tiktok Video. He added: “Both my AR-15 and my 9-mill handgun. I no longer want them.”
He added in the video that laws are not going to change anytime soon and it’s high time that people start doing something about it. He said:
“I know this will not change legislation or anything to do with gun culture in America, but hopefully it’ll be a form of symbolism and hopefully America can wake up because no other country has the problems that we do with gun culture and ideation and gun violence like we do.”
Police in Hillsboro, Oregon, confirmed Friday that Beers had handed over his weapons for disposal. Sgt. Clint Chrz of the Hillsboro Police Department said it was unusual to see anyone surrender arms for any reason.
People, according to Chrz, frequently want to get rid of ammunition. In the uncommon event that someone is disposing of a weapon, it’s usually because “Grandpa passes away and Grandma wishes to get rid of his weapons.”
