Karun Nair Scores Triple Ton (Century): The fourth day of the fifth test match between India vs England proved to be a day of records for the men in blue. He scored triple hundred (century) and became the only second Indian to have made a triple century (300) in Test matches so far.

Karun and Ravindra Jadeja had an outstanding partnership of more than 100 runs which they scored in just 15 overs. With it, India was able to score its highest total in Test matches. Nair got to convert his maiden Test hundred into a triple century. He earned a name for himself in the cricketing world.

Jadeja lost his wicket at 51 runs. Nair scored his first hundred in 185 balls and crossed 200 runs in 306 balls. He pointed the ball for a boundary and reached 201 runs while being with R Ashwin on the ground. It was the time of post-tea session and spell of Keaton Jennings.

Karun Nair drew the ball once again for the boundary towards Alastair Cook who fell short of stopping it. The England captain can’t resist Karun from scoring his triple ton. The Indian captain Virat Kohli declared the innings and Nair returned not out. It became the occasion for celebrations for Nair and team India.

Earlier, Nair was considered an underdog and there were doubts if he would be able to make debut this time. He made debut in the third test. Before it, he wasn’t even picked for the playing XI for the first two games.

Karun became the 287th player from India to debut in the Tests international. He got the chance only when his Karnataka teammate KL Rahul got injured in Mohali. Both of them were batting pretty well on Sunday in Chennai. KL Rahul fell short of 1 run to score double hundred. But, Karun made sure he reaches three figures.
