Matthew Hobden Dies: The future professional cricketer Mathew died at an early age of just 22 years. He was a bowler who represented Sussex County Cricket Club of England and going to represent the nation. (watch: Crystal Palace vs Chelsea.)

As per the reports of Daily Mail, the reason(s) and circumstances behind his death haven’t cleared yet. It is highly believed that he passed away suddenly in Scotland. The Sussex County Cricket Club made the following statement.

“Sussex Cricket is deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Matthew Hobden”

“Matthew was an exciting young cricketer with a big future ahead of him in the game. He was a fantastic individual who had progressed through Sussex’s youth and academy ranks, having been born locally in Eastbourne.

“He made his first-class debut for Sussex in 2014 and had represented the county across all three formats over the past two seasons. He will be greatly missed.

“Sussex would like to offer their deepest condolences to Matthew’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“Players and staff will be offered as much support as is possible and we would like both Matthew’s family, and everyone connected with Sussex Cricket, to be respected with privacy at this time.”

As the news went viral, all the cricketers across the globe paid their respects.

Hobden was started to be believed to represent England in the future as he was a potential future star for the country. Taking note of his performance, he was offered to take part in the Potential England Performance Programme (PEPP) and spend time alongside the senior side.

As a mark of respect and to pay their condolences, England players will be seen donned in black armbands on the second day of the ongoing 2nd test against South Africa today.
