Overview

Delhi Dynamos played Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in front of around 61,000 spectators and won by 0-1 with a late goal from Richard Gadze. The first half went quite as both the teams were unable to break the deadlock. Robin Singh may have had the best chance of the first half as he was one on one with keeper as a cross form behind came but the Kerala’s keeper was on point their as he came outside the box to kick the ball towards safety. Dagnall was injured in the first half as he collided with John Arne and was substituted at half time. Kerala’s marquee singing Carlos Machena had his debut but w as unable to have any kind of impact and was substituted as a result.

The goal came in very late in the second half as Robert Gadze was able to head Malouda’s cross in the back of the net and giving his side the much-needed lead in the 87th minute which Delhi held onto and won the match.

Mumbai hosted Chennaiyin FC in their first home game witnessed by 21,000 spectator with high hopes which eventually turned to dust as they lost by 0-2. With introductions to Sunil Chettri and Subroto Pal who were away on international duty, Mumbai had a really decent chance of winning the game.

First half was goalless but there were constant efforts from both the teams, one particular was Elanos free kick which was saved by Subroto Pal denying Chennai to take the lead but eventually due to a poor pass from Pratesh which was intercepted by Elano and the goal was scored by Stiven Mendoza in the 60th minute and then Mendoza scored another in the 66th minute with his head as the ball rebounded from the crossbar giving Chennai a lead of 0-2.
