Portugal are the eight placed team on the FIFA rankings. They are a very strong, talented and ready to take on any opposition as it was seen in their performance at the UEFA Euro 2016 which they won by beating the hosts France in the final.

They have serious players in the team who are looking only for glory, the best example is their skipper Cristiano Ronaldo who has had a wonderful season with the domestic and the national team as well, winning everything he could.
Then there is a young striker like Andre Silva who has just joined AC Milan for a transfer fees of 38 million Euros. They are currently in the Group B of the World Cup qualifying stages with Switzerland, Hungary, Faroe Islands, Andorra, and Latvia. They are currently second on the table with 15 points from five wins and one loss.
Mexico is the 17th placed team in the FIFA rankings and is a very strong team as well. They are not going to make things easy for the Portuguese. They also have talent and depth in their with the likes of Javier Hernandez in attack and Guillermo Ochoa in the goal.
Hector Moreno in defense also provides a lot of experience and will try to be at his best. Carlos Osorio will need to find a way to stop the attacks from Portugal as they are a very attacking team.
