iZombie Season 2 Episode 14 Review: “Eternal Sunshine of the Caffeinated Mind” was this week’s episode’s title. And the title was quite punny and apt as it featured the case of a coffee shop owner’s murder. This episode was one of the good episodes of this season and the audience loved the fast paced storyline. Also, this episode had many major reveals rather than just one, which was the case for earlier episodes. (read: The Flash s2e15 recap review.)

Drake had been jumping both sides of the good vs evil line for quite some time now. Liv and the audience were quite unsure and concerned about which side he would ultimately rest on. We finally got the answer to that. We saw a cameo in the form of Detective Lou. We learn that Drake was working undercover all this time. He was helping the vice unit to take down Mr. Boss’ enterprise from the inside.

The fans were relieved when Drake told Lou that he won’t break up with Liv. We always knew Drake was a good guy, even if he was doing bad stuff. Liv already has underwent so many ups and downs, so it was good to see her get someone good to be with. Let us hope Mr. Boss doesn’t find out about it. Also, Mr. Boss kills Blaine! This was certainly unexpected.

Now, talking about the cure for zombies, it is the least reliable plot going on in the story right now. Even the cure is highly unreliable. It first cures a rat, then it kills it. It turns another rat into a horrendous zombie rat. But Rob Thomas is still fiddling with the cure. Maybe it’s time to consult the guys at Max Rager. They really seem to have good grasp on the research for the zombie cure.

And as a side note, Mr. Boss’s character is being portrayed extremely well. He is an extremely complex character with a simple name who is an accountant by day and a badass by night. Now, to the best scene of the episode. Liv and Gilda are in the same room. Liv finally has a shot at retaliation. It felt so satisfying when Liv punched Gilda. Major should have told Liv about his zombie killing gig.

Also, this is the only episode where the murderer got away with the crime. Maybe he would get caught in the forthcoming episodes? Watch for yourself.
