Fans of all things Marvel have been getting quite excited with the recently released, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. The movie received a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has experienced a wave of positive reviews from well respected critics.

Alongside its positive reviews, Shang-Chi managed to earn a staggering $94 million domestically over its opening weekend, breaking the box-office record for a Labor Day release. It should certainly come as no surprise either given the cinematic spectacle that the movie managed to serve up, with amazing action-packed scenes, gorgeous imagery, and some of the best-choreographed mayhem sequences which have graced the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a very long time. The main character in the movie, Shang-Chi, was intriguing also and certainly provided more than his fair share of breathtaking moments throughout his journey surrounding the mysterious Ten Rings organisation.

For many, Shang-Chi is now up there with some of the other memorable faces from the Marvel series of movies. Ultimately, it’s subjective, but there’s no doubting that the martial-arts master deserves to be in their company. But who is he up against in a competition for the franchise’s most-liked character? Let’s remind ourselves of some of Marvel’s other likeable personalities.

Steve Rogers (Captain America)

Plenty of diehard fans of the franchise struggle to look past Steve Rogers as their favourite face from the Marvel world. Captain America doesn’t just represent courage, honesty and possesses an all-around devastating array of moves, but he helped save the world from the Nazis and HYDRA, alongside a whole host of notable achievements. Without him, the Avengers certainly wouldn’t be the same, and although a tad stubborn on occasions, it was ultimately for the good of the group and the world.

Thor

A charming character throughout most of the movies he is featured in, Thor was initially an arrogant soul who saw himself as the heir to all of Asgard, only for it all to come crashing down and eventually winding up on earth, alongside a vast array of other destinations. Thor certainly isn’t the brightest character in the Marvel franchise but that is arguably part of his appeal, coupled with his relationship with Loki and his use of the hammer Mjolnir. Thor is so well-liked that there’s even a popular Thunderstruck slot game

Tony Stark (Iron Man)

Put simply, without Iron Man, there is no such thing as the Avengers. His arrogance certainly annoyed some fans, but it’s hard to deny that Tony Stark’s character helped create some of the most memorable scenes in the entire series of movies. From his array of killer creations to his funny one-liners, Iron Man made the Avengers what it is and played an integral role in so many of the movies.

Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow)

The former KGB agent turned SHIELD member was Nick Fury’s top covert operative who based much of her surveillance around the aforementioned Tony Stark before eventually teaming up with the Avengers when Loki started causing mayhem in the Big Apple. The fact that she sacrificed herself to bring back all that was lost from Thanos’ decimation was a testament to her overall character and highlighted her good nature and loyalty to her friends.

Other Marvel heroes worth mentioning are Peter Parker (Spider-Man), King T’Challa (Black Panther), Bruce Banner (Hulk), Peter Quill (Star-Lord), and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier).
