PRDP Box Office Collection: As expected, Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has created a new BoxOffice record by grossing Rs 40.35 crore on the first day of its release smashing previous record set by Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year.

It seems releasing big movie around festivals is a good idea after all. Shah Rukh Khan’s movie ‘Happy New Year’ which released last year during this time did well on the opening day. But it was nowhere close to what Sallu Bhai has pulled off with PRDP.

Breaking many records, Salman’s movie was quick to climb the ladder of the highest Bollywood grosser by minting Rs. 40.35 cr on day one, followed by ShahRukh Khan, Deepika Padukone film which was directed by Farah Khan.
The actor – director duos – Salman Khan, Sooraj Barjatya and Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan have always gone strong at the boxoffice front in the past as well.
PRDP collectionsAamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ (Rs. 36.22 cr), released during Christmas in 2013 is at number 3 followed by ShahRukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ (Rs. 33.12 cr). Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ directed by Kabir Khan comes on number 5 after it earned Rs. 32.93 on the first day of its release.
PRDP 2nd day collection is expected to go about Rs. 25 crores. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo box office collections will be updated at the earliest.
It seems there’s no match to Bhai when it comes to wowing the audience in the theatre through his Bollywood blockbusters.
