#OneWordReview… #Tubelight: Disappointing. Solid star power [Salman Khan]. Stunning visuals. But #Tubelight is body beautiful, minus soul.Tubelight rests on a thin plot… Screenplay lacks the power to enthral and mesmerise… Emotions plenty, but few moments stand out…Tubelight will have an awesome weekend + extended weekend [Eid festivities]… Will it touch ₹ 300 cr, ₹ 400 cr, ₹ 500 cr? I doubt!
Not just for Salman and Zhu Zhu but also for his bromance with brother Sohail, which is the main highlight in the film. In fact, an insider who caught a screening of Tubelight last night revealed to us how this is by far the most honest performance of Salman as his simplicity will instantly win your hearts. – Bollywood Life

The best part about the movie was the bonding between Sohail and Salman. Kabir smartly paired up real-life brothers — who are extremely close to each other — on the screen. Their scenes together are so natural and refreshing that I hope to see them together in some road adventure movie. – Khaleej Times
All forces are at work in the first half of the film to hoist him as an indefatigable on-screen simpleton supremo. A few scenes that may even remind you of the hit Munnabhai series, where Tubelight goes around spouting Gandhian principles and applies them to his own life. The supporting cast including the late actor Om Puri, the endearing Chinese star Zhu Zhu and child actor Martin Rey Tangu are on call to complement the hero. Watch this film if you love Salman enough to ignore the flaws in his film. – GulfNews
If you’re wondering how it ties up in the end, there’s a major plot twist that brings everything together. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. You expect such an emotional film to have a bittersweet ending, one that hammers home the point. But Tubelight does succumb to a cliched ending, pandering to the good old feel good factor.- Firstpost
An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind – Mahatma Gandhi: Faridoon Shahryar (Review awaited)
Evergreen copy by Kabir Khan of “Little Boy” film, even minor scenes were copied with some fringe modifications. 52-year-old Salman Khan is doing the role of an idiot. Kabir failed to have even a single emotional scene in the film. In one scene Sohail got beard as Salman falls from the cycle which is the symbol of unbelievable direction. : KRKTube
