Rapper Metro Boomin has witnessed a tragedy that has happened with his family recently. TMZ reported that Metro Boomin’s mother Leslie Joanne Wayne was killed by her husband who died by suicide on Sunday, June 5, 2022. This is not the person who is the biological father of Metro Boomin.
Metro got to know about the tragic news of his mother’s death by police outside of the Atlanta area. It is not confirmed but the incident apparently happened on June 3. There is no update regarding the identity of Leslie’s husband. At the moment, we don’t know who he was. The exact reason or cause of death of Metro Boomin’s mom Leslie Joanne Wayne would be known after autopsy reports arrive which are underway.

Metro Boomin was close to his mother and has spoken of her on various occasions. In 2016, he credited his mom for his regal birth name, Leland Tyler Wayne. St Louis-born hitmaker said that the name gives himself pride in whatever profession he desired to pursue.

Metro’s mom bought him a laptop when he was in middle school. It sparked his interest in production. During his early production career, he would drive a 17-hour roundtrip along with his mother so that he could work with OJ Da Juiceman at his studio. It used to happen every weekend. In return, he had to promise stellar grades in high school.
