Public Affairs Index (PAI) rank Indian cities on basis of the data-driven to rank the 30 States of India from the lens of governance. In this post, we’re going to rank Top 10 Indian States on the basis of Crime, Law & Order available for citizens.



Tamil Nadu topped the Public Affairs Index when it comes to providing watch over Crime, Law & Order for citizens. Followed by Goa and Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Haryana and Jharkhand stay on the end of the list with no good developments.

It covers various indexes as a lens to ascertain the quality factors affecting the lives of individuals in a state. The data which PAC use is from Union Government Ministeries and Departments to rank the states on an independent scale.

In this 2018 edition of PAI, we look at the following focus subjects and indicators:

Violent crimes:

  • Rapes per ten lakhs population
  • Murder per ten lakhs population
  • Dowry deaths per ten lakhs population

Atrocities:

  • Custodial Deaths per ten lakhs population
  • Number of Police Firings

Policing:

  • Number of police personnel per ten lakhs population
  • Percentage of Women police to the total strength of the police
