A mass shooting took place at South Street in Philadelphia on June 4, 2022. 3 people were killed and 12 were injured in a shooting downtown on Saturday.
At the time of the Philadelphia shooting, Police officers were in South Street already. They were patrolling the area. It is a lively area with many restaurants and bars. A news conference was held on Saturday morning in which the officer said that they saw several active shooters shooting into the crowd.
One of the policemen had fired at one of the Philadelphia shooting suspects last night, but it’s not known if the gunman was hurt.
After the Philadelphia shooting, the victims were admitted to a hospital. Out of those fourteen victims, two men and one woman were pronounced dead upon arrival. The names of the victims have not been revealed yet.

Inspector Pace told The Reporter Times’ correspondent that hundreds of people were enjoying South Street just like any other weekend when the Philadelphia mass shooting broke out.
Per the report, police are expected to continue the investigation and review the surveillance footage and will try to identify the shooters.
Two guns have already been recovered from the crime scene. One of those two guns has an extended magazine. Besides this, numerous shell casings were found littered on the street.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been close to 240 mass shootings in the USA in 2022 already. The non-profit organization has set the benchmark in which four or more people were killed or injured.
