Isaiah Joel McClain is professionally known as Isaiah Rashad, who was born on May 16, 1991. The first big break for the American rapper was his performance on the 2012 Smoker’s Club Tour with rappers Juicy J, Joey Badass, and Smoke DZA, among others. He founded Chattanooga hip hop – The House – along with Chattanooga rappers – YGTUT, Michael Da Vinca, aka MikeyD, Chris P, and Brian Brown.
In March 2013, California-based record label Top Dawg Entertainment signed Rashad. When he signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, he got a tattoo on his body to celebrate the partnership. The rapper released Cilvia Demo via digital distribution on January 28, 2014. It was his first extended play. Cilvia Demo was critically acclaimed by the music critics and came at #40 on the US Billboard 200.
With this success, Rashad was named to the 2014 XXL freshman class. Isaiah released his debut album titled The Sun’s Tirade on September 2, 2016. It was also critically acclaimed. The album climbed to #17 on the Billboard 200. In 2016, the rapper revealed that he was an alcohol and Xanax addict and suffered from depression, anxiety, and isolation. According to Isaiah, he fucked up things and was about to be dropped three times from TDE. After that, he stated that he doesn’t take Xanax anymore and only drinks socially. In 2014, he said that he had suicidal tendencies at the age of 19.
His second album – The House is Burning – was released on July 30, 2021. Since then, there has been no new album by the rapper.
