But, there is a bad news for the fans of Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino as they have confirmed that they are not coming back for the television adaptation of TLOK season 5. But, fans are still hoping for it to happen.
This series has been praised over the time. It premiered in 2012, and people started comparing it with the hit HBO series Game of Thrones and works of the greatest Japanese anime filmmaker, Hayao Miyazaki.
Nowadays, there are very few entertainment programs for young generation which are different from the existing social consciences and focus on the deep social issues of race, gender, and sexual identity. TLOK is one of the most popular and celebrated anime series of all times.
The Legend of Korra Season 5 Release Date
The world of The LoK is set as of The Last Airbender where we saw people bending and manipulating nature’s four elements – air, water, earth, and fire. The Last Airbender story is based on Aang, who is an Avatar and has the ability to bend all four elements, unlike other normal benders who can only bend just one element out of four.
This Avatar also has the same responsibility, maintaining the world peace, which previous Avatars had. However, the story has shifted to the modern day world with Avatar being Korra.

Will The Legend of Korra Season 5 Happen?
It is not happening but, The Dark Horse will continue it as a graphic novel written by Michael Dante DiMartino who has also written the stories for The Last Airbender, its on-going graphic novels, and TLoK TV show.
It ended with Korra and Asami being gay and walking into the portal to the spirit world. But, in July 2018, Netflix has announced to release a new animated series from The Last Airbender titled – The Dragon Prince.
The Legend of Korra Graphic Novel Release Date: When Is It Coming Out?
It will release in June 2017. The Story of Korra will come in three parts of the graphic novel by Dark Horse. The first part of the series will be called as ‘TheLegendOfKorra: Turf Wars’.
As the Entertainment Weekly reported, this novel will start from the story where our famous couple has returned to Republic City from the Spirit World to find the place in disarray. In an interview with EW, DiMantino revealed of what we can expect from Korra’s story to come:
“Korra has no stuff with him and hence he needs to start from the scratch and has to find a new balance in the city. This story is taking place immediately after the finale and it will focus on the newly emerging relationship of Korra and Asami. It will be like the aftermath who is dealing with the new portal in the city and all the evacuees coming back to find their homes wiped out the cause of the portal.”
It will be interesting to see whether the popularity of animation series will be enough for Netflix to pick the story and come up with more seasons. But Bryke has taken some new projects after the season 4, hence there is less expectation of that happening.
The story of The Legend of Korra Season 5 will continue and the original co-creator is going to write it no matter season 5 will happen or not.
