Earthquake in Rajasthan: 4.4 Magnitude Tremors Hit Sikar

Rajasthan Earthquake: A mild magnitude of the quake was felt in the Rajasthan state of India on Thursday night. Tremors of about 4.4 Richter scale were felt at several areas in the state.

However, there is no report of any casualties or damages received.

Earthquake in Rajasthan: 4.4 Magnitude Tremors Hit Sikar

As per the reports came out from the IMD department, it was a minor earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 came at 11:28 pm. Its epicentre was found to be located very close to Sikar in Rajasthan.

Ajmer Seismological Department found the quake center at a latitude of 27.6 degrees North and longitude 75.6 degrees East and its depth was 10 km.

The epicentre area Sikar is about 100 kilometers far from Jaipur, the state capital.

After the medium intensity earthquake, people experienced very small tremors in the areas nearby Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Tonk and Ajmer which caused a bit panic among people. They were seen coming out of their homes at midnight.

Any loss of life or damage has not been receivedĀ as of now, as reported by the TV channels.

The state capital, Jaipur is located in the seismic zone 2. So, it can be considered a very low damage / risk zone.
