Payton Gendron had planned the mass shooting that took place at Tops supermarket in Buffalo, New York. On Saturday, May 14, 2022, the people of NY witnessed a tragedy as the 18-year-old gunman shot and killed 10 people while 3 were injured.
The shooter live-streamed the whole mass shooting incident on Twitch with the username jimboboiii. The white male has been taken into custody by the Buffalo police. The young white male released a 180-page manifesto in which he has planned his racist and anti-Semitic views. Payton has attributed his manifesto to the controversial online forum 4chan. The document also mentions a private Discord chat server detailing his plans in advance.
Tops Friendly Market is situated on Jefferson Street where the mass shooting happened. It’s a dense suburban area in western New York state. A witness said that the said store was filled and busy when the shooter arrived.

The suspect who Buffalo police identified as Payton Gendron shot four people in the parking lot of the supermarket. Three were killed while one lived but was injured. Then, jimboboii headed inside the store and shot multiple people including a security gu ard who was a recently retired police officer.

As per the sources, Payton Gendron is from Conklin, 200 miles southeast of Buffalo. The Buffalo city police commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said that he was covered with heavy armor. He had tactical gear, a tactical helmet, and a camera that live-streamed what he did. The Amazon-owned company, Twitch has terminated the channel/account in question.
Though video of the mass shooting incident at Buffalo supermarket has been pulled offline, there are some short video clips making rounds on the internet.

Payton’s long manifesto speaks about his supposed mindset and aims. It also says that 4chan acted as the source of his radicalization. It states that the white race is dying out as the blacks are killing the whites and an average black takes $700,000 from tax-payers in their lifetime, among others.
The manifesto also delves into how the whole act was planned. It acted as a step-by-step instruction manual for him. It contained not just words but diagrams as well. The screenshots of the alleged document have been shared on social media. It looks like someone planned the whole action and was well ahead of the shooting.
A Twitch spokesperson told The Reporter Times that the streaming platform is saddened by what happened, and it has a zero-tolerance policy against violence. His account has been indefinitely suspended from their service, and they have been monitoring any action of rebroadcasting this content.
4chan and Discord haven’t responded at the time of writing this. Police have referred mass shooting in Buffalo as a racially motivated hate crime. State authorities – the FBI, the local police department, and the US Department of Justice are working together and investigating the case.
The investigation is on and the officials are looking at multiple online postings linking to the shooter. They may include praise for South Carolina church shooter Dylan Roof and the New Zealand Mosque shooter Brenton Tarrant.
