The wedding was at the Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club, with a guest count of nearly 200. The ceremony took place on the 10th hole of the golf course, with Yolanda Adams singing as the bride’s three sons led her down the aisle. She gave birth to Shaquille O’Neal’s children while they were married; she now shares them equally with her husband.
When asked about her sons, Shaunie said they were being able to support her was “everything” to her and that dealing with relationships was like “taking care of a package deal” for her.

When they originally met, the pair had connected through a common acquaintance and spoken to each other for over six hours, where they also bonded over love, family, and religion. Before getting married, he declared that he blended right in with her family. She stated:”He’s been amazing to just step into our lives and fill a void that’s been there for a minute in a space of just being here with me, cause I haven’t had somebody. They love him which makes me love him even more.”
