A Gentleman 1st Day Collection
The movie opened with an average occupancy of 15% in the morning shows. Thus, it has got a poor start. Being an action film, the starting occupancy must have been good because it will not witness the normal evening growth as the content oriented films do. The film didn’t have much buzz as the promos didn’t get much interest.
Along with it, the lack of star power is felt. All in all, the first day numbers are going to be poor. So, if the film has to do a decent business in its entire lifetime run or especially the weekend, it requires an excellent growth. If it does successfully, it would be able to achieve reasonable numbers. But, the early trends makes it a tough task.
In comparison, the other releases are even low. Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has opened to just 8%. It’s fate now depends on the word of mouth like Bareilly Ki Barfi, etc. The starting figures of day 1 for Qaidi Band has declared it a washout.
Annabelle Creation is faring well as evident from the second week collections. It seems to be strong in South and Mumbai. At some places, it is giving competition to A Gentleman despite its much lower screen count. Toilet Ek Prem Katha is steady with its low numbers in its 3rd week.
Friday is the Ganesh Chaturthi and it means a partial holiday across the nation. However, at certain places like Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana, its business will be affected due to the Ram Rahim Singh verdict. According to reports, some theatres have been closed down due to the violence fear.
